Level 5 Reflexology FAQ’s

Why should I choose the level 5 Diploma?

There is a huge variety in the levels and standards of training available and it can be confusing to know which one is the right one for you. In general, a higher level training programme is more comprehensive and teaches more advanced techniques to help you pursue your career in reflexology and become an expert in your field!

The level 5 training delves deeper into the theory, principles and techniques of reflexology, and there is a greater emphasis on practical experience and clinical practice, adding advanced techniques and protocols to enhance the effectiveness of the reflexology treatment.

It is essential to do your research and consider the following when choosing the right training:

– The specific program and what subjects are included, for example, hand reflexology, reproductive health, lifelong illnesses, business studies, anatomy & physiology etc.
– Check the number of face-to-face teaching hours and time with your tutor (we don’t believe you can learn reflexology in 6 days on line!) Most of the level 3 courses now seem to be a combination of distance learning and 5 or 6 days learning practical Reflexology in class, all IRC training providers offer 160 face-to-face classroom hours taught over a minimum of 1year .
– Check the credentials of the tutors, at Coopers Hill Academy our tutors continue to work in the industry.
– Review the course curriculum and awarding body, Agored Cymru is an awarding body recognised by CQFW one of the regulators for qualifications in the UK. This qualification is the highest level of Reflexology training you can undertake in the UK.
– And lastly ensure the training course enables you to join professional industry associations such as the AoR (Association of Reflexologists) and Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC – the UK complementary healthcare regulator), via the professional organisation it is linked to. For example, IRC is linked with the Association of Reflexologists, the UK’s largest and longest running Reflexology Association. Also be aware that some of the level 3 ‘practitioner diplomas’ don’t meet the CNHC entry criteria.
